The Hotel Colorado, 9-26-08

Hotel Colorado is an 1893 Italianate structure in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and one of the oldest hotels in Colorado. Several ghosts are believed to reside there, notably a young girl in Victorian clothing seen playing with a ball, a female that peers over sleeping male guests, and a male presence on the fifth floor. The two suites in the bell towers are frequently reported to be haunted. The elevator moving on its own without passengers, strange smells and sounds have also been reported by guests and staff.

We stayed at the Hotel Colorado on 9-26-08. This building has MANY areas that are very uncomfortable.  At the very end of the hall on the 5th floor, there is a door that conceals the stairs to the attic, and as I walked down that hall the feeling got heavier and heavier, to the point that it was difficult to remain there. I walked up the thin steep staircase to the 6th floor, and had the most overwhelming feeling of sadness... As far as evidence goes, I didn't capture much, but it was very difficult to sleep because of all the knocking and tapping and clicking, but to be honest, in a building that was constructed in 1891 one has to expect noises like those... We do plan on returning at some point. That place is BEAUTIFUL!

Waverly Hills, 8-16-08

Waverly Hills Sanatorium, located in Louisville, Kentucky, opened in 1910 as a hospital to accommodate tuberculosis patients. It has been popularized on television as being one of the "most haunted" hospitals in the eastern United States.
On 8-16-08, we had the privilege of spending the night in Waverly Hills Sanatorium. Let me start by saying the many pics available on the internet of this abandoned hospital do NOT do it justice. When we pulled up that tiny road and around the bend, it took my breath away. We arrived at around midnight, and I couldn't help just standing and staring in awe at that massive building, lit by the full moon. The building is roughly 160,000 square feet, so needless to say, we had our work cut out for us that night. There are reports that claim 63,000 people died in Waverly Hills, but death records, while inaccurate at best, place the number at a much more believable 8,000-10,000 deaths.
The place had several areas that had a VERY heavy feeling. There were many areas and rooms there that instantly, when I stepped in, felt almost like I was under water. Also several times I'd walk into an area and get an overwhelming feeling of sadness.
There were quite a few interesting personal experiences. Many of us were touched by unseen hands that night, in fact as I was walking down a hall with another investigator, and felt someone try to grab my right forearm as if to stop me, but when I looked around there was nobody there. Also shadows were seen moving in and out of the rooms throughout the night.
The other thing that surprised me was that much of the building had quite a different feeling. A feeling of peacefulness. In fact, a couple others from the group and I went into the infamous room 502, supposedly the most active room in the building, and we sat down on the floor in the dark. We turned on our recorders and a Trifield Meter and began asking questions, hoping to capture some EVP, and I had the most amazing feeling of peace.
Another area I should mention is the Death Tunnel. This is a 500 foot long concrete tunnel that was built to bring building supplies up the hill during construction, and to bring supplies up when it was a functioning hospital. As the death rate increased, it was used as a means to get the deceased down from the hospital without other patients seeing them. The rate at which death occurred wouldn't be good for morale. The tunnel is creepy to say the least, but none of us had personal experiences while we were in there, though the pics that were taken there had MANY orbs in them.
There were several groups there with us investigating that night, and there were several VERY interesting pics taken, including two full body apparitions! I captured a few EVP's myself as well, and you can find them in the EVP Gallery.

The Ranch, 7-26-08

I was lucky enough to go back to the Ranch, and we had some interesting personal experiences... We experienced the extreme drops in temperature again, it was about 80 degrees that night and we had cold spots drop down into the upper 30's. We also heard knocking on the windmill, about 40 feet above the ground.

The Ranch, 6-14-08

The Ranch is basically an open space park today, though in the late 1800's and early 1900's, it was a functioning ranch with livestock and a large ranch house. The only remaining structure on the land is a very large windmill. A friend took me there, but asked me not to reveal it's location because it's not well known and she wishes it to remain that way, so I'm afraid I can't go into the history of this place. Basically, it's just a big open field now. I took many pictures, but didn't come up with anything paranormal. At one point we experienced some serious cold spots. The thermometer dropped from 55 degrees F or so to as low as -7 deg F. Also around that same time, the EMF meter peaked at the top of the scale many times. Interesting too, because not many things in a field would cause an EMF reading that high...
